To mark the conclusion of its 2018 research project on affordable housing in growing European metropolises, La Fabrique de la Cité is pleased to welcome you to Bordeaux on Wednesday 7 November 2018 for a conference organized in collaboration with Bordeaux Métropole.

How do growing European metropolises, now faced with an acute affordable housing shortage, deal with challenges as varied as the rise in housing construction prices, the increasing scarcity of available land in dense, urban settings, or regulatory and fiscal constraints? How can these cities develop an affordable housing stock targeted at low-income households?

After a discussion on the strategies deployed by these metropolises during a roundtable bringing together experts from a variety of European cities, a second session will be dedicated to the specific case of Bordeaux and the strategies currently implemented by the metropolis of Bordeaux to facilitate affordable access to ownership for young households.
